“ Their menu is huge and ever-changing! If you are indecisive and like to choose from a wide range of cuisines and desserts, this one's for you. Personally, I like smaller, more focused menus, so you know the food or drink is high quality. At first, I thought Aloha Mamacita was a birria truck, like the many that opened up during the pandemic. Then, I was surprised when they expanded to Aloha Puffies. Then I was more surprised when they expanded to other portable desserts, Vietnamese food, Thai food, and sushi hand rolls! What cuisine category does Aloha Mamacita fall under? I've eaten from here twice, once at their Nimitz location, and again for takeout when they moved to Waterfront off Ala Moana Boulevard. I've never dined in at the Waterfront location and I don't think I intend to, especially since I live in the Westside and rarely go to town! During my first visit years ago, my cousin and I shared birria tacos to compare with La Birria and San Diego's birria, and Aloha Puffies to compare with the original and the best, Paalaa Kai Bakery! Aloha Mamacita's birria tacos were a bit too cheesy and you couldn't really taste the beef nor the consommé. At La Birria and this birria shop in San Diego, the cheese was less overpowering. I thought birria traditionally doesn't include cheese? The Aloha Puffies, although available in various flavors, don't compare to Paalaa Kai's original Snow Puffies. The puff pastry was a little more soggy than Paalaa Kai's even while eating one right after pickup. The cream fillings of the matcha, Oreo, and ube Puffies weren't strong, while Paalaa Kai's has a consistently eggy, sweet, and buttery custard filling. Some say Aloha Puffies help customers save a trip to the North shore... I say skip Aloha Puffies and wait for that worthwhile drive to North Shore for some original Paalaa Kai Snow Puffies! I ordered a couple tacos for takeout at their current Waterfront location because it was Taco Tuesday (not sure if TT still exists here). The tacos were small, but I guess you get what you pay for? I'm not sure if the tacos are consistently this size even at regular price, but the regular prices back in 2023 were already steep for me. Pass on the tacos! The menu seems a little gimmicky with its large size and wide variety. I hope that doesn't mean food quality drops if there are many food and drink items to account for. I don't really have a reason to return, especially since I no longer work near them. There are other birria, Vietnamese, Thai, dessert spots, and Paalaa Kai Bakery. 4 stars because the owner seems ingenious with whipping out countless dishes on the menu (a one-stop shop, if you will) and equally "Instagrammable" graphics. ”

“ Yummy food! We tried their birria nachos - A, chicken pineapple fried rice - A and their chicken tacos, not my fave. It would have been nice to get some utensils right away, since the nachos were super messy lol. My boyfriend ordered the chicken tacos and asked for no crema sauce but they still came with crema sauce so sad. He probably would have liked them more without. I had no idea their menu was so expansive, definitely have to go back to try the Thai curries and desserts! Love that it is across the street and also their new outdoor area is super cute and modern!! ”

“ Love that they have dine-in now since I don't live in the area. There's indoor and outdoor seating available and it's very spacious. They also validate parking so be sure to ask for the sticker before you leave. Food was good! I got the chips and salsa and the chips were freshly made. The salsa texture is watery but super flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise! I also ordered the birria tacos and I really liked it! I got some aloha puffies to go and they were really good (but doesn't beat the OG..). I do like that they have different flavors available ”

“ Wasn't sure about the restaurant as they serve Thai food, too. Pleasantly surprised and very happy. The gals in accounting made the lunch choice. It was a good one. Located in Waterfront Plaza. Lots of parking. Hefty portion of birira beef atop a bed of homemade tortilla chips and nacho cheese sauce, aka "orange goo" and accompanied by diced red onion, sour cream and jalapenos on the side, hold the cilantro. Super soft beef and oh so delicious. Only able to eat a portion of that plate. Had the rest for lunch next day. No disappointment here! The chips were soft, the meat even more tender, it was almost like it wanted to become chillaquiles. It was great! ”

“ Nice Renovation and updated new location in restaurant row. Im glad they finally have their own space. They been around for some time now and I'm glad they are where they are now. Lots of seating, Clean and comfortable interior. They have lots of food options. Definitely skip on the poke but highly recommend the tacos and dessert. The drinks were okay but most definitely would go back for their food. Service was quick as they weren't so busy anyways. Lots of parking in the structure and they do validate as well. Parking on the side if you do take out as well but recommend phone ordering. ”
